Messier-Dowty delivered today the first V-22 landing gear.
Messier-Dowty’ selection in 2006 to supply a new nose gear expanded the company’s role on the program to include design and supply of both the main and nose landing gears. The new NLG will be on all future original equipment as well as the existing fleet will be retrofitted.
Manufactured jointly by Bell and Boeing, the V-22 is a multi-mission, military, tiltrotor aircraft designed to perform missions like a conventional helicopter with the long-range and high-speed cruise performance of a turboprop aircraft.
